What actions are we being called to in light of climate change and peak oil crises?

As I was researching and writing my paper on the environmental crises (see attached file), I was keenly aware that our friends in Haiti will suffer sooner and more than we middle class folks in the US. Yet through these crises the Holy Spirit may be providing a way for us to wake up folks in our churches to the truth of our interconnection. How do we join the Spirit's work in this area, while still attending to our other calls?

Mary Ann, I feel that you are a kindered spirit in this life. It was so nice to meet you at the meeting and speak to you about your work in the Parish. I am so encouraged by your work here in this paper because I am so concerned about the unsustainable living patterns that are being lived out in this world. Esp. the spiritual implications of this choice in lifestyle. In particular I'm interested in these questions in the Haitian context. How to live compassionately as a member of creation...I"m esp. interested in the idea of biophilia and education and psychological development. Thanks for your work!
