- A trip to Haiti (with Beyond Borders in January '07) has inspired a gallery & book store offering fair trade art & coffee, live music on occasion & the opportunity to simply enjoy life with others in an interesting neighborhood in Historic Northeast Kansas City. Artwork, jewelry & other items are available from Brasil, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti & North America, including Mexico! (I've traveled to Haiti twice more this year, once in March and again in July/Aug, taking my two daughers, ages 5 and 17, with me on the third trip. I'm hooked!)

WHY FAIR TRADE? WHY KAFE KISKEYA?
Kafe Kiskeya was born as an answer to the call to help create a more just and peaceful world, by offering fairly traded art and coffee made in countries that have experienced oppression and strife. The artwork and coffee currently available is produced by individuals, some of whom friends of mine and I have met and spent time with.
